Known for their bright green, yellow and blue coloring, Dolphin (Mahi) is perhaps the most abundant fish Hatteras has to offer. Dolphin are in our area mostly from May through September. A limit per Charter is 60.

Wahoo
This fish has stripes like a zebra and many razor sharp teeth. They are excellent to eat and are in the Hatteras area year round, but mostly in cooler month

The electric blue highlights of a White Marlin are perhaps the most memorable attribute of this fish. They can get up to 170lbs and are generally released when caught off of Hatteras. May – August are the peak periods to see Whites in this area.

Bluefin Tuna
This giant tuna is truly a sight to behold if you’re lucky enough to catch one. The Bluefin tuna can grow up to 700lbs and the season and limits is determined every year by the NCDMF, but is generally sometime in December or January.

King Mackerel
Though they have a clear resemblance to the Wahoo, they are nothing like it. Kings show up when the water becomes cooler in the fall and stay through the spring.

Sailfish
The center fin, or sail of this fish is it’s most prominent feature. Sailfish can get up to 200lbs and are released off of Hatteras. The best time to see these beauties is June – September.
